AUDIO CHROMA: The Power of Music and Design
AUDIO CHROMA: The Power of Music and Design is a senior thesis project pairing graphic design students from the Grand Center Arts Academy with local musicians in an effort to collaborate and demonstrate music's influence on creativity and design. Local musicians provided music for students to create imagery from. Students created poster responses from the musicians music and were able to write an response regarding the imagery and design they have created for their posters. Students could choose one track or the entire album of tracks to create visual responses to. Students participated in early sketching, mid-process, and final critiques over their project progress. Students shared their final poster and written responses in a gallery event at the University of St. Louis-Missouri's Fine Arts Building. Students were encouraged to invite their family and friends to view their project results and explore UMSL's graphic design program. All teaching, poster results, written responses, and photos/video results were compiled on to a website and blog to share and document AUDIO CHROMA. www.audiochromadesign.com audiochromadesign.tumblr.com
